The Lifestyle

SunCrest is a vibrant, active community where there's always something to do. There are several events to look forward to every year, with new and different activities always being added. Below are just a few examples of SunCrest's neighborhood events:

SUMMER CONCERTS

Each summer the lawn in front of the Welcome Center is turned into an outdoor concert hall. Three separate summer concerts are given by local artists ranging from fast-fiddlin' bluegrass to good old-school rock n' roll. These events are usually preceded by a catered picnic dinner.

ICE SKATING

An ice skating rink shows up in the winter just above the Welcome Center and offers free skating for residents. Kids and adults can borrow skates and slide on the ice.

HOLIDAY PARTY

Hot cocoa and peppermint candy canes, horse-drawn carriage rides, and a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick. The SunCrest Holiday party is certainly an event you don't want to miss. Neighbors can mix and mingle by the fire in the Welcome Center as they celebrate the season.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONTESTS

Get out the holiday lights and try to figure out which burned out bulb is keeping the whole strand from lighting up! Do your best Clark Griswold and win prizes for the best holiday lights. Or snap a shot of the sun setting for the neighborhood photo contest. Prizes are awarded, but it's bragging rights you're after.

BBQs

When the SunCrest Market opened, they did it in style with an old-fashioned barbecue cookout. Over 700 people showed up for what was a great party brushed with hickory flavored barbecue sauce.

OTHER EVENTS

Neighborhood garage sales, chili cookoffs, parties and picnics are common--both the official SunCrest bashes and the smaller pocket parties. Neighbors are always planning new events like hikes, bike rides, game nights and get-togethers. SunCrest is truly a thriving neighborhood!
